Miss Eriko would like to say hello
Please to excuse the underwear; we're still working on this clothes business.

Eriko-chan is an Aoi-Tuki Izayoi. Yes, at long last, I made the decision, and snagged her (with Celga's help) from Aoi-Tuki's online shop. Despite what people have posted on DoA--er, I'm out of sorts with people on DoA at the moment, so roll with me here--she is not desperately hard to fit in clothes, nor is she huge in comparison to other SD13-ish girls. Nor, for that matter, is her resin full of pinholes. Nor are her hands ugly. She's a darling, with interesting engineering features and some of the prettiest creamy resin I have (right next to Dollshe resin for nice color and texture).

Once again it's stormy and rainy and dark--plus I have a horrible cold that's sapping my interest in doing much of anything--so I don't have pictures to prove it, but she looks adorable with Kit the Mui. Can this be love? Ah, we shall see what we shall see . . .

Noooooooow, one more arrival to come, and I SWEAR the crew will be complete . . . ;-)

She's sweet.....really nice, gentle face, and I like her hands a lot!

Yeah, I had been keeping half an eye on the Y!J auctions, hoping for an Izayoi with a faceup I liked, and bam, suddenly this one turned up in the Aoi-Tuki online shop for a lot less money than the Y!J models! She came with just a little gym suit instead of a fullset outfit plus wig and eyes, but who cares? I have bins and bins of stuff here to try on her. I'm truly thrilled with her--such a fun body sculpt, and the Izayoi face is adorable.

I do sort of take it back about her not being hard to dress, though . . . pants are just impossible, unless they're reeeeeeeeeeally stretchy. Still, we all need a tricky shopping project now and then. ^_^

Aww, she's very pretty. :3 What a sweet face, congratulations! ^^

Thank you! I'm loving your Yugiri pictures--I just couldn't figure out what that face would look like in person, and it's great to see how cute he can be.

Yay! You finally got one! I know you've been lusting after her for a long time! She's just beautiful!

Is the one more arrival the one that's making a detour over here? ^________^

heh heh heh heh . . . not until you get caught up, there's no rush, but as of yesterday evening I do have a tall guy here who needs to be de-eyelinered and given quirkier eyebrows . . . =^__^=

She's incredible! I have never seen that sculpt before...nor heard of the company. Wow.
You have a gorgeous collection, full of very unique and truly artistic dolls.

*hugs* and I spend waaaaaaaaay too much time online, finding new oddball BJDs! I do think this one is a big winner--and there are a lot of nifty pictures all over the Aoi-Tuki website, here: http://www.aoi-tuki.com/index2.html.

Thank you for that link! WOW, I want one! They're really wonderful!

Celga had no trouble at all placing the order--and even with fees and shipping, the basic doll wasn't outrageously expensive. I would love to see Aoi-Tuki girls popping up all over the place!!

I love her face, her eyes are absolutely beguiling. Congratulations.

It's been almost a year since Aoi-tuki produced any Izayoi girls--I was starting to think there would only be the newer heads (which I really don't like) from now on. But then exactly the right one popped up, wheeeeeee!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been sick. I hate feeling underweather and have lately due to migraines.

I do love your new girl . . . she is AMAZING!! I have never seen a face or body scuplt like her . . . really really remarkable. And she has ripped arms (muscles) I love them!! And such a sweet girl . . . congrats on finely getting her.

Gosh, I'm amazed at how many doll companies and artist dolls are out there that I know nothing about. LOL!

I think this weird spring-to-winter-to-spring-to-winter-to-hot-humid-SUMMER weather is doing a number on everybody! All my friends with migraines have been having worse ones than usual in the past few weeks, and this town is full of strange, lingering respiratory infections, too. AARRRRGGHHHH, and I hope you're feeling better by now!

Sometimes I wonder how many wonderful BJD-type artist dolls we never, ever see or hear about, even with all the people who surf online and spread the news when they find something new. I bet there are a lot of even tinier operations than, say, ShinyDOLL and Aoi-Tuki and Minawadou--wouldn't it be fun to go to a Dolpa in Japan and see what all is on display?

There is nothing ugly about this dearling. And if we've got a romance cooking between this sweet petal girl and Kit, then I plan to make sure my sticky nose is fully immersed. Which will require photo documentation ... which means I sincerely hope you get to feeling better quickly.

Here ... have a tissue. *hugs*

Complete, you say? Yeah, right. ;)

oh, yeah, oops. I forgot about the head in transit . . . hee!

No, honestly, I do need to stop and do a serious review of the assembled multitudes sometime (like, before I buy any more!). But I'm awfully fond of all of them, I must confess. *sniffle*

*Isn't* she pretty? Feh. Maybe the person on DoA got a very early Aoi-Tuki doll with casting problems, and maybe Aoi-Tuki has resculpted the hands recently (I know there have been some other body tweaks, but in the website pictures I didn't notice any major hand differences between earlier and later bodies). I just get tired of people making "authoritative" pronouncements on DoA, when there is plenty of evidence that they aren't all that authoritative. Double feh.

Mmmmmyes, there is a puppy-love picture coming up, with a disappointed third-wheel suitor hanging around looking glum . . .

is very pretty. Hope you are feeling better today. How is "Little Sparrow" doing? Is Miss Mally just about ready for a fitting. Adoption fees are about 75% to 80% complete. I keep giggling to myself. Also did a swap with Sher for a little something for her. Hope to get together soon.

I'm giggling along with you (and plunking stuff into Miss J.'s box as I run across things that might suit her)!

I still need to do that photoshoot with the little guy and his toys--I just can't get my zoom lens to work with me on him! I'll figure it out sooner or later, though.

*gaping* Ooooohh, PRETTY! Fooie to DOA comments, my own ABJD has been totally blacklisted from there.

Is there a link where one can see more pictures of this artist's work?

Hiya, welcome aboard!! I'm crazy for the Aoi-Tuki girls, and I love spreading the word. This is the front page of the website: http://www.aoi-tuki.com/index2.html, and the "profile" and "gallery" links at the top of the page will get you to lots and lots of pictures. I always have to hunt around for the Aoi-Tuki/SD13 body comparison pictures, but if you click on the various links that will show up on the left sidebar, you'll find them. Have fun!

*happy dance*

My friend teh_dolls has a Model doll Bonnie Hopez, and she really likes your new girl, not the least because Bonnies and she seem to get the same flack.

My own bigger BJD isn't here yet, but she's a *gasp* Goodreau.

Oh, I like Bonnie's head so much! I have a Bella Auden--I think the Dollmore Model girls are fantastic, and Bonnie has a lovely, sweet, innocent thing going on. And the Goodreaus are really interesting--I'll keep an eye on your LJ to see pictures of yours! :-)

tehdolls, I mean *bibble* That's her down below me. lol, I'm not sure you'd call Sal lovely, sweet, and innocent. She's a Newfie, so she's spunky. lol. I've seen your girl and she's the prettiest Bella Auden I've seen.

lol, I have to admit that I've been turned off BJD a little by all the elitism and flack that goes around. I've ordered the Goodreau because she was blacklisted and I wanted to show the artist support. And my smaller BJD is broken. So I love her. Or I will if she gets here in the mail. *frown*

That is a very nice facial sculpt, and I really love the lines in the body! That's the first time I've seen them on a female sculpt.

And phoo... Don't listen to the DoA people (they ripped my doll a new one when her sculpt first came out) - if you're happy with her then that's what matters :)

Oh, jeez, *people*--they can be so rude and obnoxious, and I just don't see the fun in it. *eyeroll*

It amuses me that Aoi-Tuki gives these bodies such muscular upper arms and a tiny waist, when the hips and rear and thighs are so thoroughly badonkadonk. Girlfriend is spending all her time at the gym on the upper-body machines . . .

Haha, yes, I did notice that.

Someday someone will get it right and musculify (is that a word?) an entire body...

Since you like the rarer dolls

Have you heard of this one? http://home.att.net/~pinktruck/Volks/kit.html She was actually one of the first resin BJD that I ever ran across online.
