Still having a fairy-tale weekend, of sorts
If you go down to the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.

It's lovely down in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home.

Oneesan's zippy Julie-Christie-in-Siberia outfit is from Nairu on Y!J, Souldoll boots, Elfdoll wig. Here's the full effect:

Ooooh - she is very, very fae like - what a gorgeous look for her!

This suits her right down to the ground, doesn't it? I was so excited when I saw the outfit on Y!J, and held my breath that I wouldn't wind up in some ridiculous bidding war for it. But nobody else wanted it, wheeee!!

Really very nice. She looks russian to me and I have no idea why.

I was thinking about that, too! Seems to me that the combination of the headscarf and the shapes of the other outfit pieces, plus Neechan's tilted eyes, gives her that Russian look. The Saiki head can shift European or Asian so easily, depending on the angle and the eyes and the wig--too cool.

I love the whole doll/outfit look. And the long shadows with the slight threat of the unknown. Yep.

I wish I had another tree in the right spot to cast even more ominous shadows. Hmmm, there's a niche market for landscaping, isn't there? Specialty Environments for Doll Photography.

Neechan! I always love seeing her. ^_^

She MADE me buy this outfit for her. *grrrrrrrr*

<3 <3 <3

For every bear that ever there was
will gather there for certain because
today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic~

I love that skirt~ X3

Hee! I have NEVER understood the threatening subtext--oh, heck, it isn't even SUBtext--in "The Teddy Bears' Picnic." Too strange.

The skirt is cool--it's actually two pieces, the lace-trimmed white underskirt and the beige one on top.

Yesyesyes! And maybe the overall shapes, too? That smock-shaped top says "traditional" to me, though the tradition could skew German or French or English or Russian or Scandinavian, depending on the embellishment.

As formidable as Oneesan can seem, it never fails to amaze me how the feminine details can confer such appealing complexity. You have so many wonderful dolls (and you know how mad I am for Miss Mally), but Oneesan is the one who manages to creep deeply into my psyche. Lyn captured something amazing in her ... you fulfill that amazingness every time I see her. Which leaves me with the happiest of sighs and a curious mind.

The longer I have Neechan, the more surprising she becomes! I'm thinking she could even pull off full-fig Lolita, if it were the right kind . . . maybe that black set of Nell's, only without the overdress that laces up the front? *plotting and scheming*
